Vacation and Tourism department for Discover Salt River in Arizona.
Discover Salt River, a DMO client, requested a website redesign to refresh their branding and better capture the destination’s vibrant culture. To achieve this, I incorporated bold, saturated colors and dynamic imagery inspired by the community’s rich heritage. The design uses playful, yet clear interactive elements to engage visitors while maintaining an intuitive layout for easy navigation. Organic patterns and shapes subtly reference traditional art, grounding the modern look in cultural authenticity. This approach creates a lively, welcoming experience that invites exploration and reflects the spirit of Salt River.
The key metrics provide a clear snapshot of performance, offering a quick view of the most important data points that define project progress and impact. They highlight core measurements and outcomes, helping to track effectiveness, identify trends, and demonstrate results at a glance. These indicators ensure that success can be evaluated consistently while allowing room for the unique goals of each project.
This project originated from the Salt River Tribe following the launch of their tourism website. They wanted to extend the refreshed branding onto their newspaper site to create a cohesive digital presence. Drawing inspiration from traditional newspaper layouts, I crafted a design that balances classic structure with modern usability. By integrating the destination’s branding elements and fonts, the site connects visually and thematically to the tourism site while respecting the newspaper’s unique identity. This approach ensures both continuity and clarity across the Tribe’s digital platforms.
The “Generations of Hospitality” campaign was designed to visually and verbally embody the welcoming spirit of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. Rooted in earth-inspired textures, warm tones, and organic typography, the creative reflects the grounded personality and effortless authenticity of the destination. Every design choice—from imagery selection to messaging—was made to convey the generosity and openness guests experience when visiting Salt River. Each piece of campaign collateral invites travelers to look deeper, revealing stories, traditions, and values that have been passed down through generations, creating a genuine connection long before their visit begins.
