Discover Santa Clara needed a website refresh that would better reflect the city’s energy, hospitality, and growing list of attractions. The previous site lacked clarity in its navigation, consistency across content, and modern visual appeal—making it difficult for users to quickly find what they needed.
My goal was to design a clean, intuitive website experience that highlights Santa Clara’s key visitor offerings, improves findability, and supports tourism goals through smarter content structure and a more welcoming visual system. By focusing on usability, hierarchy, and storytelling, the redesign creates a seamless path from exploration to trip planning.

Discover Santa Clara needed a website that could effectively communicate the city’s unique blend of culture, attractions, and hospitality while acting as a functional tourism tool. The previous digital presence did not fully showcase the city’s vibrant identity, and users had difficulty navigating content or finding key information. The challenge was to design a site that both reflected Santa Clara’s energy and served the practical needs of travelers and the local tourism community.
Our research combined market insights with direct client collaboration to define the website’s strategy. Tools like SearchScope and MarketLens helped identify audience interests, search trends, and competitive benchmarks within the tourism space. In parallel, we worked closely with the client through content and design briefs to uncover their goals, preferred messaging, and priorities for functionality. This combined approach informed decisions on site architecture, navigation, and content placement to ensure the final design was both engaging and purposeful.
